I’ll Be Alright

Music ·

Original music and lyrics by Gernot Ottowitz. Produced with the help of suno.ai

Carefree to the point of total detachment from reality - we all need a break sometimes.

I’ll Be Alright is one of the lightest and most openly optimistic songs I ever produced and it only makes sense that it was originally written for a BMW commercial many years ago. I recorded an earlier version with a friend, and the intro of this final version still carries that original DNA. The commercial track itself was short, but it already contained the basic feeling: forward motion, sunlight, freedom, and a kind of open-road optimism. There was enough there to build a full song around it later.

Lyrically, I’ll Be Alright is not about escape in a dramatic sense. This is certainly one of my least “personal” lyrics. The song chooses motion over overthinking, openness over control, and trust over waiting until everything is solved.

For me, this track deserves its place precisely because it stands apart from the darker or more introspective songs. It is a reminder that lightness can also be honest. Joy does not have to be naive. Optimism does not have to be shallow. Sometimes “I’ll be alright” is not a cliché, but a small act of trust… or desperation - I’ll leave that one up to you.

Lyrics

I’ll Be Alright

[Verse 1]
I just want to go, I want to go where all the feeling is
I just want to feel, I want to feel the wind on my face
No map in my hand, no plan to defend, just space
I just want to go, I want to go and be okay

[Pre-Chorus]
Let the morning pick the color of my day
Let the traffic lights blink “breathe” and fade away
If I don’t hold tight, I won’t fall apart
Maybe letting go is how you start

[Chorus]
So I’ll ride with the day, let it carry me
No guarantees, just sky and possibility
If I get lost, I’ll find my way in time
If it gets dark, I’ll learn to love the night
I just want to go, I want to go and know inside
I’ll be alright

[Verse 2]
I don’t need a sign, I don’t need a reason carved in stone
Just a moving line, just a rhythm humming in my bones
Coffee on my tongue, sun on my skin, and I’m gone
I just want to go, I want to go before it’s late

[Pre-Chorus]
Let the city blur into a softer sound
Let my thoughts stop trying to pin me down
Every turn can be a little grace
Every breath can be a better place

[Chorus]
So I’ll ride with the day, let it carry me
No guarantees, just sky and possibility
If I get lost, I’ll find my way in time
If it gets dark, I’ll learn to love the night
I just want to go, I want to go and know inside
I’ll be alright

[Bridge]
Maybe freedom’s not a finish line
Maybe it’s a door you leave unlatched
Maybe I don’t have to fix my life
Maybe I can let the moments match
And if my hands are shaking, if my heart runs wild
I’ll breathe it in and smile -
’Cause I’m here, I’m here right now

[Chorus]
So I’ll ride with the day, let it carry me
No guarantees, just hope and possibility
If I get lost, I’ll find my way in time
If it gets dark, I’ll keep a little light
I just want to go, I want to go and know inside
I’ll be alright

[Outro]
I just want to go, I want to go where all the feeling is
I just want to feel, I want to feel the wind on my face
Just want to go, I want to go, I want to go -
And be alright
