careyoo grew out of nestwärme’s larger mission: supporting families facing additional challenges, whether through disability, single parenthood, or other difficult circumstances. One important part of that support is resilience training - offering practical tools that help people navigate everyday life with more strength and stability.
Launched in mid-2024 as part of the nestwärme academy, careyoo is an online learning platform built around short, accessible modules that can be integrated flexibly into daily life. My role was to create a visual language that would make the platform feel warm, engaging, and emotionally accessible. In total, I developed more than 40 illustrations for the platform, along with an animated launch trailer as well as postcards/stickers and other online promotion material.
A central challenge was finding the right balance in the character design. I wanted the figures to feel relatable and human - not idealized, overly cute, or too abstract. Each illustration needed to communicate its message clearly while still leaving enough openness for users to see something of themselves in it.
All illustrations were created in careyoo’s signature orange, which gives the platform a strong and recognizable visual identity while tying the series together as one coherent system.
